HVAC installation for businesses in Rubí
HVAC installation and renewal for industrial units, offices, schools and buildings in Rubí, sized for hot summers and cold winters and designed to be easy to maintain.
In Rubí, most HVAC projects do not start from scratch. They involve adapting an industrial unit to a new activity, replacing rooftop equipment that has reached the end of its service life, or renewing the installation in a school or residential building while it stays in use. This service is for owners, property managers and technical managers who need a well-sized solution that is easy to maintain. MRS Climatización surveys the building, carries out the installation and hands it over fully documented.
Typical projects in the town
- Offices inside industrial units: air conditioning for offices, meeting rooms or changing rooms in production or logistics units.
- Change of use: a warehouse converted into a workshop, showroom or offices needs a different heat load from the original.
- Rooftop equipment renewal: replacing old units with more efficient systems, reusing whatever is still serviceable in the existing installation.
- Schools and public facilities: HVAC renewal organised around the school calendar.
- Residential buildings with shops: installations for communal areas or ground-floor commercial premises.
Sizing for the inland climate
Rubí has an inland climate: hot summers and winter mornings that are colder than on the coast. Sizing on average values leads to equipment that cannot cope in July or loses output in January. The survey takes into account the area's outdoor design temperatures, orientation, occupancy and internal loads, such as machinery or lighting in an industrial unit. For heat pumps and aerothermal systems, performance at low outdoor temperatures is a selection criterion, not a detail.
Installing in an industrial unit: roof, routes and power
Industrial units have their own constraints, which are best resolved before equipment is chosen:
- Roof: many are lightweight, so load-bearing capacity, supports and safe maintenance access must be checked.
- Routes: high clear heights, overhead cranes or racking determine where pipework and ductwork can run.
- Electrical capacity: HVAC adds to the existing machinery load and may require the panel or the contracted power to be increased.
- Operations: connections to the main panel and roof lifts are scheduled in agreed time slots or shutdowns.
As MRS also carries out electrical installations, panels and automation, the power supply and controls for the new equipment are part of the same project. System options are described on the HVAC installation for buildings page and, for buildings with many zones, on the VRF and fan-coil systems page.
Schools and public facilities: the calendar decides
In a school, the summer is the natural window for the most disruptive work, but it is short. To use it well, the survey, technical proposal and approval need to be completed in spring, and equipment supply planned with some margin. Whatever does not fit into July and August is organised by zone during term, outside teaching hours and with advance notice to the school management.
Organisation and handover
The works are coordinated from MRS's production and warehouse base in Sabadell, a short drive from Rubí, where materials and equipment are prepared for each phase. Night or out-of-hours work can be arranged in advance. On completion, the installed equipment, set points and operating guidelines are documented, and each unit is labelled so that it can be added to the digital record on the platform MRS is incorporating. This way, HVAC maintenance in Rubí starts on day one with a complete inventory.

Frequently asked questions
Can you air-condition the offices in an industrial unit without stopping production?
In most cases, yes. Offices can usually be treated as a separate zone, with their own pipe and duct routes and electrical connection. Work that affects the main unit, such as lifting equipment onto the roof or connecting to the main panel, is scheduled in agreed time slots, at the weekend or during a planned plant shutdown.
Will our unit's roof take new equipment?
It depends on the type of roof and its condition. Many industrial units have lightweight roofs, where load-bearing capacity, supports and safe access for maintenance must be checked before any equipment is placed. If the roof is not suitable, alternatives such as ground-level plinths, a yard location or a dedicated support structure are considered.
Can a school's works be carried out over the summer?
That is the recommended approach for the most disruptive work. To make the most of July and August, the survey, proposal and approval need to be completed in spring, and equipment supply planned with some margin. Whatever does not fit into the summer is planned by zone during term, outside teaching hours.
Does aerothermal heating perform well in Rubí's winters?
It can, if it is sized for the area's lowest outdoor temperatures rather than the average. In the inland Vallès, winter mornings are colder than on the coast, which reduces the available output. Low-temperature emitters and good insulation improve the result; this is assessed during the survey.
Who handles the electrical side if more power is needed?
MRS carries out electrical installations and panels, including their certification and legalisation, so the supply to the new equipment can be part of the same project. If the contracted power is not enough, you are told what increase is needed so that you can request it in time and it does not delay commissioning.
