HVAC installation in Cornellà de Llobregat
Design and installation of HVAC in offices, warehouses and shops in Cornellà de Llobregat, with the works organised around the building and its activity.
Cornellà de Llobregat combines recently built offices, industrial and logistics buildings, and residential blocks with ground-floor shops. Each calls for a different HVAC installation: in the office, zoning and air quality matter most; in the warehouse, volume and the roof; in the shop, where the outdoor unit goes and how it sits with the neighbours. MRS Climatización designs, installs and commissions HVAC for these buildings, with the electrical side included and maintenance considered from the outset.
New-build offices and floor refits
The most recent office developments are often handed over with the pipework pre-installed or with a base system that each tenant adapts. The work frequently involves relocating indoor units when the layout changes, adding meeting areas with higher occupancy, or integrating heat recovery ventilation into the controls. In these cases the choice is usually between a VRF system and water-fed fan coils; the differences are explained under VRF and fan-coil systems.
Industrial and logistics buildings
In a warehouse, the challenge is volume. With high ceilings, warm air collects at the top and the working area stays cold in winter if the air supply is poorly designed; in summer, the roof lets in a great deal of heat. Before choosing equipment, we look at:
- Which areas need real conditioning (order picking, fixed workstations, attached offices) and which only need ventilation.
- Whether the roof can carry the equipment, and where the mounting frames will go.
- The available electrical capacity and the condition of the main panel.
- The loading bay doors and their effect on the thermal load.
Shops in residential blocks
For shops in residential neighbourhoods, the key decision is where the outdoor unit goes. Communal roof, light well or façade each have consequences for noise, pipe routes, condensate drainage and access for later maintenance. The owners' association's authorisation and any municipal requirements that may apply are reviewed before the project is finalised. When replacing older units, we also consider whether an air-source heat pump or a more efficient unit fits within the shop's contracted electrical supply.
Site logistics in Cornellà
Cornellà borders Barcelona and is well connected by the ring roads and the Llobregat corridor, which makes coordination from the Rambla de Catalunya office straightforward. Equipment and materials are received and prepared at the Sabadell warehouse and reach site according to the phase. Where a rooftop unit needs a crane, the permissible roof load is checked, the lift is scheduled and, if it occupies the public highway, the relevant permit is applied for in good time. In operating warehouses, phases are agreed with operations so lorry movements are not blocked; in offices and shops, the noisiest work can be done out of hours if arranged in advance.
Electrical work, handover and maintenance
MRS also carries out electrical installations, panels and automation, so power supply, protection and controls are part of the same project. At handover, the units, set points and operating guidelines are documented, and each unit is labelled for its technical record. The full method is described under HVAC installation for buildings; ongoing care is covered under HVAC maintenance in Cornellà.

Frequently asked questions
Which system suits a warehouse with an office area?
Usually two different solutions. The warehouse needs high-airflow equipment designed for a large volume, often roof-mounted, while the offices are better served by a zoned system, such as VRF or direct expansion, with their own ventilation. Both can be run from one control system, but sizing both areas on a single unit rarely works well.
Do I need permission to fit a shop's outdoor unit on a residential building?
Normally the owners' association must authorise it, in line with its rules, and municipal requirements on façades or noise may apply. It is best settled before the project is finalised, because the permitted location determines the unit, the pipe route and the drainage. The proposal sets out the technically viable locations.
How is a large unit lifted onto a warehouse roof?
By crane, in most cases. First we check that the roof can take the load and define the mounting frame. If the crane occupies the public highway, a municipal occupation permit may be needed, which is applied for well in advance. The lift is scheduled for a slot that does not interfere with the site's own lorry movements.
Is the electrical supply of an older industrial building enough for new HVAC?
Not always. The diagnosis reviews the contracted supply capacity, the main panel and the available circuits. If an upgrade is needed, MRS also carries out the electrical installation and panels, so powering the equipment is part of the same project. In some cases a more efficient solution reduces the upgrade required.
Can you install without stopping the warehouse or office?
In many cases yes, working by area and in phases. Work that requires a shutdown, such as the final connection or replacing the main plant, is concentrated in agreed slots, and night or out-of-hours work can be arranged in advance. The technical proposal shows which phases affect operations.
